The issue of antisemitism in selected Czech media

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the topic of antisemitism in articles published between 2019 and 2020 on five chosen Czech news websites iDNES.cz, Aktuálně.cz, Seznam Zprávy, iROZHLAS.cz and ČT24. The aim of the thesis is to describe media imagine of the topic of antisemitism and how the selected media inform about antisemitism, by using quantitative and qualitative analysis. Theoretical part of the thesis is mainly focused on the definiton of the concepts, well known from the media and communication studies such as agenda-setting, framing, gatekeeping, news values or the history of propaganda. This part of the thesis also focuses on the topic of antisemitism itself, it's history, definition and modern usage of this term. Methodological part is mainly focused on brief description of the five chosen news websites, their history and ownership structure, followed by defining the selected methods of analysis that are used in this bachelor thesis. The result of the analysis was that both public service media and private media reflected the topic of antisemitism most often in the form of a news article. Foreign events predominate in all monitored media and surprisingly, no significant differences were found between public and private media in the types of sources they used.
Phenomenon Seznam News

This bachelor thesis is about news web Seznam Zprávy. The main goal of this thesis is to point out it's position across media especially online. At the beggining it shows the start of Seznam, later it takes on the despription of the website. I documented the articles from August 2019 using content analysis. In a practical part I turned my focus to biggest and most famous personalities at Seznam. Later the thesis walks us through some of the most famous cases and broadcasts of Seznam Zprávy. I also looked at the pros and cones of internet news and described the concepts of hoax, fake news and click-bait. In the end I described why I think Seznam Zprávy is a phenomenon not only online, but also the general journalism. In attachment I also put in a codex of Seznam Zprávy.
The status of Seznam Zprávy news server on Czech media market after one year of its existence

This diploma thesis focuses on the news server Seznam Zprávy. Its goal is to find out, how the server established in the period of the first two years since its creation in October 2016. The goal of the work is to describe the specifics of online media and the Internet, which users are able to access not only from technologies such as computer or mobile devices, but also within smart TVs in the form of HbbTV. The main aim of the analytical part is to find out how this news server established itself within the Czech media landscape. The main factor the interest of the audience and the frequency of citations of the diary in other Czech media. News server Seznam Zprávy is compared with other, currently most popular, Czech news online journals: iDNES, Novinky, Denik, Aktualne, Lidovky and iRozhlas. This thesis offers statistics of data about traffic and the numbers of real users available from the NetMonitor.cz. Based on them, it is determined what success the server Seznam Zprávy for the first two years of the audience recorded. In the role of other indicators are the number of citations in other media. Overview of this data has been provided by the online media archive of Newton Media. The last indicator is the interest in social profiles of the medium on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
